BARDASHT is a non-profit, non-governmental organization registered under social welfare agencies ordinance of 1961. The head office is in Islamabad, and it has branch offices in Karachi, Lahore, Quetta and Peshawar.

BARDASHT is committed to help the underprivileged population, the most vulnerable class in Pakistan. As a non-governmental organization, BARDASHT aims to intervene both in situations of disaster and non-disaster for sustainable development of the marginalized population, restoring their autonomy in the society. This organization also works for people with disabilities or handicaps of any kind. The aim of BARDASHT is to serve the humanity, to develop human resources, to provide physical and mental health facilities and to offer economic sustainability without gender discrimination. The key focus of BARDASHT is always to work on the various aspects of social and human development in Pakistan.

BARDASHT is dedicated to addressing the long-term developmental needs of its beneficiaries by studying their fundamental problems. This organization serves at the divisional and district level communities to ensure that programmes do not impose solutions from the outside but they are designed after profound assessment of the situations so that long-term needs and requirements can be met. Being a humanitarian agency, BARDASHT believes that one of its main functions is to bring to light the needs of the helpless so that the world may provide relief and assistance.

On the other hand, BARDASHT visualizes emergency situations as hidden opportunities for eradicating poverty and social injustice. Although such situations carry a profound emotional and financial toll, with timely planned responses, effective budgeting and a dedicated and empathetic team of workers and volunteers, BARDASHT has always managed to transform the negative into positive.


BARDASHT works to build a more tolerant, responsible and peaceful society by focusing on those clusters of our community, which have been torn apart due to many kinds of prejudices. It achieves its objectives through several means such as awareness campaigns, curriculum intervention, fund-raising, rehabilitation projects, workshops/seminars, and skill-development training centres. At BARDASHT, we believe that everyone has the right to a more peaceful world.

Aims and Objectives:

  • To craft awareness amongst societies about peace, human rights and inter- faith harmony via print-media, workshops, rehabilitation/ livelihood projects and skill-development vocational trainings.
  • To mêlée against the menace of violence, at domestic, national and international level.
  • To nurture the seed of tolerance and peace at the grass root level by inculcating these values in the academic curriculum and learning institutes for the young.
  • To mend and reconcile the tribulations instigated by an opinionated society by serving the victims to become self-governing and self-supporting members of the society.
  • To support terminally ill patients grow into productive and useful elements of the society by bringing about a transformation in the mind-set of people.
  • To shield minorities at all levels and inside each organization/institution.
  • To promote the message of “live and let live”.
  • To build, maintain and manage crisis centres/homes/shelters for families, especially women, who have been victims of intolerance and violence.
  • To manage/arrange for medical help/camps/aid for those patients who are suffering from any kind of disease or ailment.
  • To work for the general uplift/development of our community through welfare projects.
  • To provide psychological counseling to trauma-stricken victims, who have been targeted by natural calamities or domestic violence.
  • To prevent the annihilation of environment by creating awareness about hygiene, animal extinction, global warming, and pollution.
  • To shield children and adolescents from all kinds of violence, including sexual harassment, slavery, beggary, and under-age marriages.
